Our Mission

Our mission is to REACH the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ on Skidaway Island, Savannah, and the World. To BUILD them up into the church through the power of the Kingdom, the Cross, and God’s Grace. To SEND the church out into the world to fulfill the Great Commission.

As we seek to glorify God through our mission by obeying the Great Commandment and fulfilling the Great Commission.

The Great Commandment – Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ ” This is the first and greatest commandment.”

The Great Commission – Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Our Message

There is one gospel, with three vital aspects that both forms and fuels the church.

KINGDOM: The gospel of God’s Kingdom announces that life with God has come near to us and is available to all who put their faith in Christ.

CROSS: The gospel of God’s cross announces that, through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, we have been made right with God.

GRACE: The gospel of God’s grace announces that God accepts us and shares His life with us. We have not earned or deserved it, but God gives it to us freely at Christ’s expense.

SKIDAWAY PALM

The palm frond carried great significance in the ancient world, when a king or war hero was welcomed home, palm branches were laid out creating a path for him to enter the city. In Roman times, champions and military elite were honored by crowds  waving of palm branches. King Solomon had palm branches carved into the doors and walls of the temple. The Gospel of John tells us that crowds gathered and laid palm branches before Jesus expressing their excitement as the long awaited Messiah entered Jerusalem. Revelation states that people from every nation will raise palm branches to honor Jesus as the triumphal King who is victorious over sin. (Revelation 7:9). The palm branch represents a twofold significance for this body, as a physical symbol of our location on Skidaway Island but even greater it serves as a reminder of our purpose. We desire to be a people who are preparing the way for the King. We exist to exalt Christ and to make him known in our community and the world.
